We are a digital pet health record, free for families, that puts every pet's health at the centre and keeps its history with you wherever it goes: at home, at the vet, travelling, or to a new home.
Our story
We were born to solve an everyday problem that is more serious than it seems: a pet's health history lives scattered across paper booklets that get lost, stamps that fade, random phone screenshots and data split between several clinics. When an emergency, a change of vet, a trip or an adoption happens, that key information —vaccinations, deworming, allergies, previous treatments— is almost never where and when it's needed, and that directly affects the animal's health. We digitise the health record so it no longer depends on a fragile piece of paper, is always accessible from your phone, and can be shared in seconds with whoever needs to see it. Our mission is simple to state and demanding to fulfil: that no pet is left without the information it needs to be properly cared for.
Today we offer a digital health record that is free for owners, who can register their pets, keep the vaccination and deworming schedule, store documents and check the full history from their phone. On that same foundation we give tools to veterinary clinics and shelters so they work with tidy, up-to-date data that's easy to share with families. We take special care of shelters and rescues, which manage many animals with few resources: for them, a digital history that travels with the animal to its new family makes a difference in every adoption. The model is honest and has no fine print: the owner doesn't pay to care for their animal; the project is sustained by the clinics and organisations that adopt the platform for their daily work. We don't sell anyone's data, and we never will, because that is not —and will not be— our business.
Our principles
The pet at the centre
Everything revolves around the animal, not around a particular clinic or company. The history belongs to the pet and travels with it: if you change vet, move city or adopt an animal, its information comes with you, with no paperwork or lock-in. We design every feature by first asking one thing: whether it truly improves the animal's care and its family's peace of mind.
Your data, your privacy
Your data is yours. We only ask for the information needed to care for your pet, we don't share it with third parties for commercial purposes and we don't sell it to anyone. You decide who you share the history with —your vet, a shelter, a carer or a boarding service— and you can revoke that access whenever you want. We treat privacy as part of care, not as a legal checkbox.
AI assists, it doesn't decide
We use artificial intelligence to help you organise and understand information, with timely reminders and clear answers inside the app. But we say it plainly: medical decisions always belong to the vet and health content is guidance, never a diagnosis. Technology is at the service of care, not the other way around.
How we handle health content
Talking about animal health means dealing with a sensitive topic, so we treat it with care. The content of our guides is informational and educational: it helps you understand your pet better and arrive better informed at the consultation, never to replace the diagnosis of a vet who examines it. We document each topic drawing on official veterinary guidelines and bodies, we review before publishing, and we record the update date. Access to a pet's history is always authorised by its owner, and the clinic only sees what has been chosen to share. The model is an annual subscription with no hidden fees: clinics and professional organisations sustain the project so that families can use the record for free.
Our commitment to shelters
Shelters and foster homes manage many animals with few resources, which is why Cartilla Veterinaria is free for them. A digital history that travels with the animal to its new family makes a difference in every adoption: the adopter receives the complete health information and the follow-up continues without losing anything along the way. When an adoption is approved, the history passes to the new family and the record keeps accompanying the pet in its new home.
